Flames of

Hope

2_edited.png

Shedding light on the reality of trauma and partner violence and walking alongside women as they step into the life waiting on the other side of it.

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

Light Where There

Was Darkness

Flames of Hope was founded by Paula Washington as an organization dedicated to shedding light on important issues and coming alongside women who have experienced trauma and abuse.

As a survivor herself, Paula understands firsthand the importance of support and empowerment in overcoming adversity. Flames of Hope exists because she refused to let her own story end in silence.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

Driven by an unwavering faith, Paula believes firmly that God can bring redemption out of the hardest seasons. Flames of Hope is that belief put into action — one woman at a time.

God can bring light out of any darkness — and He will carry what He started in you all the way through.

OUR FOUNDER

A Story That Became A Mission

Paula Washington didn't start Flames of Hope from a place of theory. She started it from a place of lived experience. As a survivor of trauma herself, she knows what it feels like to be in the middle of something painful with no clear way out — and she knows what it means to find the light on the other side.

Paula is also an award-winning film director, accomplished stage manager, and Girl Scout Woman of Distinction. She brings all of that — the storytelling instinct, the creative vision, the years of service — to every aspect of Flames of Hope.

This is advocacy built on authenticity, not just altruism.
